It's not to early to start your profile to apply for scholarships. Many National Scholarships are already accepting applications. 

Once you have completed your profile, check your "My Scholarships" section often, to see if you match to any. There are new scholarships being added daily.
 

Instructions for High School Students:
 

IMPORTANT steps to remember:

     1. Please DO NOT use your personal school .edu email address on this application. The
         reason being is that we need to be able to contact you in the future after you graduate.
         Please create a new address or use your gmail account and monitor that email for 
         messages from Dollars for Scholars. Check your junk mail files too, in case our emails
         were rerouted to that file.

     2. We do not require financial information for our local Barnes County North Dollars for
         Scholars Scholarships. However, you may miss your opportunity to qualify for some
         State or National Scholarships that do require it. The financial section is based off of
         your FAFSA. This is completely confidential and we at the BCN Dollars for Scholarship
         Chapter will never have access to this section. If you do want to skip this section, you
         MUST click on "I do not wish to include financial information". If you would like to complete
         it in the future, you will be able to return to this section later for editing.

     3. Transcript requests should go to Alicia.broten@k12.nd.us

     4. Reference Requests: PLEASE make sure you are using the correct email format when
         requesting your reference. It is advisable to contact your reference person first to ask
         permission to request a reference from them and to inform them to watch for said email.
         Instructions will be included with the email as to how this reference will be done. It is your
         responsibility to make sure you have received this reference before the application deadline.
         You will forfeit 40 points on your application if your reference is not received.

     5. REQUIRED STEP: After completing your profile, you MUST go to the section called
         "My Scholarships" to see which scholarships you have matched to. You MUST enter your
         DFS Volunteer Points at the top of the page where is says Chapter: Barnes County North
         Dollars for Scholars with a red Question tab to click. You MUST click there to enter your BCN
         DFS Volunteer points.

     6. Click the Verify Eligibility Button. Scholarships that you match to should show up in a box in
         the middle of the page. You can view each one for further explanation of the scholarship and
         for any extra requirements. Click on "APPLY" for each scholarship you wish to be
         considered for.

     7. Please check over your application to make sure your profile is complete. There are 2 essay
         sections and a recommendation section that need to be completed.

     8. Those of you who are under 16 years of age need to request consent from your guardian.
